Sprockets in Spring
April 27 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm$25
Looking for a ride that lets you achieve your personal best time without the stamina-draining challenge of hill climbing? A ride offering both metric century and full century routes for serious cyclists, as well as shorter courses for the casual rider? Then you need to register for “Sprockets in Spring” from Lions Club of Sikeston, Missouri. To be held Saturday April 27, 2019, the event is carefully slotted between the showers of Spring and the heat of summer. Start/finish located at the Lions Club pavilion at the Recreation Complex in Sikeston, Missouri-centrally located in the heart of the mid-Mississippi River valley. Designed by experienced cyclists, the 15, 30, and 65 mile routes are completely flat; the full century has a couple of modest hills. All roads are very low traffic for your safety. We even take “Mother Nature” into account by running the route toward the direction of the prevailing winds early in the morning when they are lightest, and putting them behind your back on the return later in the day, when any velocity increase will work in your favor! Register online or day of the event. Registration begins at 7A M; ride start at 8 AM. The routes close and support ends at 4 PM so plan to ride a route you can complete in less than 8 hours.
