The Ride Across South Dakota (RASDak) bike tour will show off the scenic Missouri River, and the four dams, on the RASDak 2020 Best Dam Ride. The 463 mile tour will start in Pollock on June 7th, with overnight stops at Mobridge, Gettysburg, Pierre, Chamberlain, Platte, and Tyndall, before finishing in Vermillion on June 13th.
This will be the 8th ride across the state and the first going from North to South. Bicyclist from over 30 states will be participating, attracted by the infinite variety of South Dakota scenery, and the hospitality of South Dakota’s small communities.
Along the way we will ride by or over 4 dams that were created along the length of the “Big Mo”; Oahe Dam (at Pierre), Big Bend Dam (at Ft. Thompson), Fort Randall Dam (at Pickstown), Gavins Point Dam (at Yankton).
Registration for RASDak is limited, and full-week ($185) and single-day ($50/day) options are available. Registered riders receive on-route support, luggage transportation and camping accommodations. Regular food and rest stops are provided along the way, usually by local groups as fundraisers. Registration and a full route map are at http://www.rasdak.com
Bus/bike transportation ($100) will be available on Saturday, June 6th from Vermillion to Pollock.
