Cycle the Erie Canal 2020

More than 650 cyclists will leave their cars behind in Buffalo on July 12, 2020 to pedal along the historic Erie Canalway Trail to Albany in celebration of the Erie Canal Bicentennial as part of Parks & Trails New York’s 21st annual Cycle the Erie Canal bike tour.
Each day riders arrive at a campsite complete with hot showers, meals, historical speakers and entertainment.
The 400-mile journey along the legendary Erie Canal ends in Albany on July 19 . Along the way, cyclists will enjoy some of the finest scenery, most interesting history, and unparalleled cycling in the northeastern United States.
Covering between 40 and 60 miles per day, cyclists travel along the Erie Canalway Trail, which is now 80 percent complete.
